Morgan Freeman turned 87 this month, on June 1 to be precise. But a recent video of the iconic actor at the Monte Carlo television festival went viral on Friday and fans were gushing over him. In the video, he was seen in good spirits and smiling, but his left hand was in gloves. Some social media users pointed out that Morgan Freeman has been wearing a compression glove for some time now as he suffers from fibromyalgia following a car accident in 2008.

“Morgan Freeman is 87 and still knows how to criticize Trump. Morgan Brieman even more so,” commented one user.

“Morgan Freeman has barely aged since I was a kid (he's 87),” noted another user.

But what's the problem with Morgan Freeman's glove?
At the 2022 FIFA World Cup or the 2023 Oscars, Morgan Freeman was spotted wearing a glove on his left hand. “It's the fibromyalgia. Up and down the whole arm. It gets so bad. Unbearable,” Morgan explained in an interview.

Freeman was reportedly involved in a serious car accident in 2008 while driving late one night in Mississippi. His car went off the road, rolled several times and ended up in a ditch. Morgan suffered permanent nerve damage and limited mobility. He was 71 at the time.

The actor suffered multiple broken bones and had to undergo surgery to repair his arm. This nerve damage resulted in limited mobility in his left hand and swelling that required him to wear a compression glove to relieve his symptoms.

What is fibromyalgia?
It is a disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood problems. This condition amplifies painful sensations by affecting the way the brain and spinal cord process painful and non-painful signals.
