ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine women's ice hockey team has announced its schedule for the 2024-25 season. The 35-game season includes one exhibition match, 27 Hockey East Conference matches and four non-conference matches. Maine will play each Hockey East opponent three times during the regular season.

Maine finished last season with an overall record of 15-18-2 and a conference record of 11-14-2. They will begin the 2024-25 season with an exhibition match against the University of New Hampshire on September 22nd.

The Black Bears open their regular season with four home games at Alfond Arena, beginning with the opening weekend against the nationally ranked Quinnipiac Bobcats on September 27 and 28. The following weekend, the Black Bears host Providence College for the first games of the Hockey East Conference on October 11 and 12.

Next, Maine will be on the road for two consecutive weekends, beginning with a two-game series against Boston University, followed by a trip to New York to face the nationally ranked Colgate Raiders.

Maine returns home for a conference series with Vermont on November 1-2, followed by another home weekend as they host Boston College on November 8-9.

Hockey East Conference play continues when the team travels to Northeastern University on November 15 and 16. The following weekend, the team travels to Vermont for a single game on November 24.

On Thanksgiving weekend, Maine hosts seven-time national champion University of Wisconsin for two games at Alfond Arena, its first head coaching appearance since 2003. Molly Engstrom played for Wisconsin.

The Black Bears continue their home stretch, finishing the first semester with a home game against Boston University on December 6th, followed by a game against UConn on December 7th before heading to Portland, ME to host Merrimack at Cross Insurance Arena.

After returning from winter break, Maine will travel to a border game against the University of New Hampshire on January 3rd. On Sunday, January 5th, the team will travel to Boston to play against Boston College.

In their first home series of the new year, Maine will host Harvard for the first time since 2018 on January 10 and 11. This series will conclude the non-conference games of the regular season.

The team will then travel to the University of Connecticut on January 17 and 18 to play two games against the Huskies.

Maine returns home on Jan. 24 and 25 to host UNH for a borderline clash with the Wildcats.

Further in conference play, Maine will face Providence College in a single away game on January 31, followed by a game against Holy Cross on February 1.

On February 7, Maine will host the Northeastern University Huskies for a home game.

The final road trip of the regular season will be on February 14th and 15th when the team faces the Merrimack Warriors in North Andover, MA.

The final series of the regular season will be at home as the Black Bears host Holy Cross for two games on February 21 and 22.

The opening round of the Hockey East tournament begins on February 28, with the final scheduled for March 9 or 10, depending on the location.
