. – The Penn State women’s hockey program announced its 34-game schedule for the 2024-25 season Friday morning.

The Nittany Lions, fresh off their second consecutive AHA Tournament title, will face a challenging non-conference slate of six NCAA Tournament teams from last season, including rematches on the road against Cornell and UConn.

Penn State will play in three regular season tournaments this season, beginning with the Ice Breaker Tournament in Columbus, Ohio, where Penn State, Ohio State, Stonehill and Cornell will face Cornell beginning Friday, Oct. 25.

The two winners of the opening games will compete for the title on Saturday, October 26, after a consolation game between the losing teams is played the day before. All games will be played in downtown Columbus at the OhioHealth Ice Haus, the training home of the National Hockey League's Columbus Blue Jackets.

Penn State will also participate in the annual Smashville tournament at the Ford Ice Center, owned by the NHL's Nashville Predators. The Nittany Lions will face Merrimack in the first round of the tournament on Friday, November 29, followed by the winner or loser of the Clarkson-St. Thomas game on Saturday, November 30.

The final tournament of the regular season will be the annual East West Showcase at Ritter Arena in Minneapolis, Minnesota, beginning Friday, Jan. 3 against Bemidji State. The Nittany Lions will finish the trip the next day against the host Gophers.

Penn State will play 20 games against Atlantic Hockey America opponents Robert Morris, Mercyhurst, RIT, Syracuse and Lindenwood, completing the regular season with 12 consecutive games.

The 2025 AHA postseason begins with the quarterfinal round, which begins on Saturday, February 22. After the quarterfinal games between sixth and third and fifth and fourth place teams, the AHA semifinals will be held from February 28 to March 2. In the semifinals, the lowest remaining seed will face the tournament's first seed, and the second lowest remaining seed will face the second seed. The AHA championship game will be held on Saturday, March 8, with the highest remaining seed hosting.

  • The Nittany Lions will face Bemidji State for the first time in program history on January 3 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
  • On September 26 and 27, Penn State will host Northeastern for the first time in program history.
  • 20 AHA conference games with home and away series against Syracuse, Lindenwood, Mercyhurst, RIT and Robert Morris.
