(FOX40.COM) — The annual California Classic returns this weekend in an expanded format, taking place in two cities for the first time.

The Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors will host games at their respective venues and compete in the final meeting of the event for the newly announced Mitch Richmond Trophy.

The rosters of the participating teams for the Summer League were recently announced and there are several players with ties to Sacramento.

Jordan Ford

The Kings have two separate California Classic rosters for each venue, and one of those rosters includes Sacramento-area native Jordan Ford.

Ford is a member of the Kings' California Classic squad for their games at Chase Center. The 26-year-old guard from Folsom spent time in Sacramento and Stockton last season on a two-way contract with the Kings.

The former Folsom High Bulldog played six games with the Sacramento team during the 2023-24 season. Prior to his professional basketball career, Ford was a standout player for the St. Mary's Gaels (2016-20).

Christian Terrell

Sacramento native and former Stockton King Christian Terrell is only listed for the California Classic in the Warriors' Summer League.

Terrell spent two seasons with the Kings' G-League team from 2021 to 2023. The Sacramento-born guard is a graduate of Sacramento High School and went on to play at the collegiate level for the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos.

After three years at UC Santa Barbara (2016-19), Terrell returned to his hometown to play for the Sacramento State Hornets (2020-21).

Kings Summer League Squad

The Kings released their roster for the California Classic on Wednesday, fielding a team of 12 players for each site. Click or tap here to view the full rosters.

Players on the Golden 1 Center roster include Keon Ellis, former Gonzaga star Drew Timmie, Isaac Jones, Isaiah Crawford and Mason Jones.

Guard Dane Goodwin of the Stockton Kings is one of the players on the Chase Center roster. Jawad Williams is the head coach of the Chase Center team.

The Golden 1 Center team is coached by former Kings player Doug Christine, and assistant coaches include Stockton Kings head coach Lindsey Harding and former NBA guard Leandro Barbosa.
