In an interview with AG Fight, Jean Silva claimed: “Manel Kape hit (Muhammad) Mokaev here outside the gym a while ago. He elbowed Mokaev in the head on the street, brother. Brother, he caught Mokaev here at the entrance to the (UFC) PI, he headbutted him on the street and elbowed him. He slashed Mokaev's head a week before his fight. He (Kape) is a psychopath.”

Silva also claimed that Mokaev's teammates were idle during the attack, as the Russians present did not intervene and merely watched as Mokaev was attacked. Silva recounted that Mokaev sought revenge by threatening to slap Kape, but eventually apologized when confronted. However, Kape rejected the apology and continued the attack, causing Mokaev to fall to the ground.

The reports of the altercation have garnered a lot of attention in the MMA world, but in a recent update, “Starboy” has suggested that the whole thing is not true. In a post on X by Jake Noeckerhe shared, “I just spoke to Manel Kape who tells me there was NO physical altercation with Muhammad Mokaev outside of the UFC PI. He said Jean Silva probably told the story to “promote the fight.”
