After the epic victory, the rockers immediately sang “Mr. Brightside”.

The Killers provided the soundtrack to England’s victory over the Netherlands in the semi-finals of Euro 2024 with “Mr. Brightside”.

On Wednesday, the band stopped their show at London's O2 Arena to show the final moments of England's 2-1 victory on the big screen (which sent them into the final against Spain). Shortly after the final whistle, white and red confetti shot into the sky and the Killers immediately celebrated the occasion with “Mr. Brightside” — the 2000s hit was the longest-running single in the UK singles chart, at 408 weeks, and is also the third-best-selling song of all time in the UK.

In a social media post, the group shared a series of photos capturing the event, along with the caption: “Tonight we played for England.”

In June, the Killers showed their appreciation for two of Manchester's most popular artists by playing a rendition of New Order's “True Faith” and covering the Stone Roses' “Ten Storey Love Song.” During their UK tour, the band covered several artists from the Kinks' “Come Dancing” and gave a taste of U2's “The Sweetest Thing” during their Dublin stops.

Before starting their European tour, the Killers headlined Governors Ball and paid tribute to another hit of the 2000s with a cover of “Maps” by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

The Killers begin their Hot excitement Shows for the 25th anniversary on August 14th at the Colosseum in Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, eight shows are currently planned for the entire month.
