Samsung announced the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra at the Samsung Unpacked event on July 10. Here's what's new, how much the watches cost, and all the important specs.

The Galaxy Watch 7 and Ultra were available for pre-order immediately after their announcement, with general availability beginning on July 24.

The Galaxy Watch 7 starts at $299.99 and comes in two sizes: 40mm and 44mm.

The 47mm Galaxy Watch Ultra costs $649.99.

These prices only apply to the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi models; LTE costs more.

Features of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7

Here are some of the highlights of the Galaxy Watch 7:

  • Suggested answers: Thanks to Galaxy AI, the Watch 7 can analyze past conversations to suggest relevant responses, making it easier to respond from your wrist.
  • Training program: Combine multiple exercises to achieve your goals. You can track over 100 workouts.
  • Race: Track your progress by easily comparing your current and past training performance in real time.
  • Double pinch gestures: This feature makes it easier to work hands-free by letting you control your watch and Galaxy phone with gestures.
  • Body composition: Take a fitness snapshot to better understand your body.
  • Sleep apnea detection: This tool looks for possible signs of sleep apnea and new AI-powered algorithms enable advanced sleep analysis.


Other health monitoring features on the Galaxy Watch 7 include irregular heart rhythm detection to monitor atrial fibrillation, heart rate monitoring that can alert you to abnormally high or low heart rates, ECG readings, and metabolic health monitoring via an AGEs index (AGEs are advanced glycation end products).

The Galaxy Watch Ultra has unique features like a multisport tile for tracking running, cycling and swimming workouts. This watch also comes with an advanced personalized HR zone, which Samsung says optimizes your runs based on your specific body. The Galaxy Watch Ultra can also automatically switch to night mode and has a siren that you can trigger in case of an emergency.

These watches come with Wear OS 5 and Samsung's One UI 6.

Like previous Galaxy Watch models, the Watch 7 features Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity, convenient access to Samsung Pay and a number of other sleep and health-related features.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 – Specifications and Hardware

The 47mm Galaxy Watch Ultra features a 1.5-inch 480 x 480 Super AMOLED always-on display. The Galaxy Watch 7 has the same specs but a 44mm case size, while the smaller 40mm model has a 1.3-inch 432 x 432 display.

The Galaxy Watch 7 features a new 3nm processor that offers three times the CPU performance and 30 percent more power efficiency than the Watch 6. This means a smoother user experience and better overall stability. It also uses multiple frequency bands for better GPS tracking.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra is built to last. With a new cushion design and a Grade 4 titanium frame, it offers better protection. With 10 ATM water resistance and wide altitude support from 500 meters below sea level to 9,000 meters, you can go for a quick swim or snorkel. The Galaxy Watch Ultra also features a new Quick Button that you can assign to specific workouts or other functions.


According to Samsung, the Ultra model can run for 100 hours in power saving mode and 48 hours in exercise power saving mode. It has a 590mAh battery, which is significantly larger than the 425mAh (44mm) and 300mAh (40mm) batteries on the Watch 7. All three models support fast charging.

These watches have the same 2GB of RAM as their predecessors, but double the storage capacity at 32GB.

There's also a new wavy band for the Galaxy Watch 7 and some new watch faces. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra comes in titanium silver, titanium gray, and titanium white. The larger Watch 7 comes in green and silver, and the smaller model comes in green and cream.
