COLLEGE STATION, Texas — According to Texas A&M University Police, the theft of an electric scooter was reported from the Texas A&M University campus on July 10, 2024.

The victim parked her black and green Glare EBC1 electric scooter at the Duncan Dining Hall loading dock around 12:15 p.m. and discovered it was missing around 5:42 p.m. The scooter was locked to the railing near the stairs, the Texas A&M University Police Department said.

According to the Texas A&M University Police Department, the National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) classifies an electric scooter as a motor vehicle. The case number for this incident is 24-0710-0005.

Anyone with information regarding this crime or other incidents is asked to contact Texas A&M University Police at 979-845-2345.

In accordance with the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), the university has also provided suggestions for theft prevention, including using a high-quality lock, parking in well-lit areas, using a GPS tracker, and removing the battery whenever possible.

“The safety of our community knows no boundaries,” the Texas A&M University Police Department said in a statement. It urges the public to report any suspicious activity to the Texas A&M University Police Department, College Station Police Department, Bryan Police Department or the Brazos County Sheriff's Office.
