DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCBD) – Congratulations to these Dorchester District Two Schools for placing in the top 10 at the HOSA International Leadership Conference.

Ashley Ridge High School

  • 2nd place – Team: Isabell Jackowski, Kayla Wilcox, Anabelle Salcido and Lia Harrington

Fort Dorchester High School

  • 4th place – Team: Britney Tran, Himakshi Patel, Haylee Robertson, Thao Nghi Nguyen, Sydney Mueller and Michelle Park

According to DD2, HOSA's mission is to provide HOSA health professionals with the opportunity to become leaders in the global health community through education, collaboration and experience.

This year’s conference was attended by 68 international secondary school teams and over 11,300 students. The theme was Technology addition: How we protect ourselves The teams gave a four-minute presentation and the best 36 teams were allowed to present their presentation to a jury.

The Ashley Ridge HOSA branch was awarded a Certificate of Merit for its contributions to the HOSA Service Project (NMDP) and received the Gold level award for conducting blood drives with over 250 donors.

Riley Bruder of Fort Dorchester also received a HOSA scholarship and was honored at a special dinner.
