WARSAW, Ind. (WANE) – Authorities in Warsaw have determined the identity of the Canadian woman who died in a fatal car crash early Monday morning.

The woman was identified Thursday as 37-year-old Prescilla De Barros Irmao of Wasaga Beach, Ontario.

Police also said they have identified the other driver, who was accused of fleeing the scene of the accident. According to the press release, both the driver and passenger were minors, so their names are not being released.

According to a Warsaw Police press release Monday, officers and other first responders were dispatched to a crash at the corner of Detroit Street and Winona Avenue shortly after 3:15 a.m.

Authorities found a 2021 Jeep rolled over on its roof on Winona Avenue. A 2006 Subaru B9 Tribeca was found near Jefferson Street with significant damage to the driver's side.

Although there were no known witnesses to the accident, the initial investigation revealed that the Jeep was traveling south on State Road 15 – which leads to Winona Avenue – and struck the northbound Subaru.

The Kosciusko County Coroner pronounced Irmao dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
